Lujure’s Marketing Commitment

First: Intimacy

Lujure will always strive to understand what customers are thinking. We will understand their needs better than any other company.

Second: Focus

To dominate the market, Lujure will focus on eliminating misaligned opportunities.

Third: Suave

Lujure will be consistently aware of how customers judge the brand. First impressions are key. If Lujure feels shitty, regardless if its the best product, it won’t matter. We must meet the customer by wrapping their subconscious mind around our usability, look, and feel.

Focus on creating scarcity for an old product before a new product launch by saying “Only available until this Thursday”. Then proceed with your new product launch after a sales spike from your old product.

Is Facebook’s Affinity (U) Edgerank Variable Uncovered?

Jumping right in. All of this was taken from TC, The Keesh, and FB Comments with a FB team member.

Follow steps below and then i’ll explain.

1. Go to graph.facebook.com/YOURUSERNAME

2. copy user id (first thing on page)

3. replace ***userid*** with your user id(name):

https://www.facebook.com/ajax/typeahead/search/first_degree.php?__a=1&filter[0]=user&lazy=0&viewer=***userid***&token=&stale_ok=0

4. Go to Facebook.com and plug in the above link (with your userid inserted).

Can anyone validate what it means?

You’re going to get a ton of data spit back at you. Try and look closely.

Of primary importance, look at the index score. This may be interesting should it have an impact on edgerank’s affinity variable.

The more negative a score is, the closer FB views you to that user/friend/id. (as stated by TechCrunch)

I wanted to open the thought channels :) - just a novelty or something worth while?

Big thanks to Mark Storus  and Keith Adams from FB for putting the pieces together.

Reality Distortion Fields

Bill Clinton. Steve Jobs. Make reality malleable.

Defined by Bud Tribble: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reality_distortion_field

  • Complex products need a simple summary
  • Tell me why I should quit my job to join you
  • Tell me why I should invest in you rather than the line outside my door
  • Tell me why I should buy from you rather than the existing suppliers
  • Do it in 100 words or less.

Spanish, TACA, Babies

After 16 hours of airplane hell, the Costa Rican culture made the day amazing.

We arrived at the airport at 8am, and stood in a 200+ person check in line for TACA air. Our flight took off at 11:05. We ended up waiting in line until 11:30- beautiful. Great job TACA- you could care less about your customers… you should listen to Gary V more often.

Good thing was the flight was delayed….. until 4:30pm. So Abby and I hung out at a mexican restaurant and Starbucks. Great combo. You know, chicken enchiladas and a Grande White Mocha just work wonders together.

After waiting the day out, we finally get on the demon baby express… i mean plane. Let me tell you people, I have NEVER heard babies cry for 4+ hours nonstop. I got a foot up my butt multiple times- don’t ask me how babies can kick that high. Anyways, over that air plane scene. On a good note i rocketed through the “Purple Cow”, for a second time. Thanks to Bob for lending it to me- got tons of new ideas for Lujure.

Abby has sick awesome planning skills and got us all worked out so after our El Salvador layover, we had a ride waiting for us in San Jose. We’re safely at our hotel in San Jose now and are cleaning off the, and I quote, “Airplane and baby smell” (says Abby). She’s rocking to Rihanni right now…. Pura Vida.

And TACA, if you have a good social media strategy, I hope you find this post and send me free tickets… New Zealand would put me in a great mood and you can be sure I will blog about how you change my mind about your awesomeness.

Until then, Pura Vida y….(for those of you that know me, you know what comes next)

Higher Education, Lower America

I’ve got to admit it, I was frustrated as hell last year when I had to take a course on how to use Excel. This is a joke right?

I went up to the professor on the first day and asked her how I was supposed to motivate myself when I had a virtual assistant with GetFriday named Anjali who took care of my companies excel needs for $4/hr.

Now, yes, of course, all of the older aged folks will say something like “You need to know what it looks like or be familiar with it”. Listen, if I had to spend time getting familiar with every possible business thing, I’d have no time to continue working with my team building the best, most advanced fan page customization tool; being Lujure.

Ethics aside, I could have passed that Excel class outsourcing all the work. For an entrepreneur efficiency vs. ethics brings up a tough question- especially for a student entrepreneur taking 26 credits and running a company. In the end ethics won but I learned higher education just doesn’t get it.

33 credits away from an all inclusive, life pass, income for life, picket fence home, nice car, and yearly vacations to Myrtle Beach, I am ecstatic to suspend my time investment in higher education and work on hiring for Lujure to continue building a company based on culture, all while creating jobs.

There is no such thing as higher education. Higher education just creates an environment- this is where the value lies and is the reason I will be staying in the college town (won’t name where) I am currently in.

…. and dammit guys, that piece of paper does nothing except take up space on an office wall that would be much better used holding up a whiteboard full of new ideas.
